We are a friendly archery club who are lucky enough to be able to use the
grounds of the Old Dunstonian's Club in Beckenham, Bromley since about 1970.

After having cancelled our tournament for the first time ever in 2025, it is with some frustration that we find ourselves in a very similar position in 2026.
With the significantly wet weather we have all experienced since the beginning of the year, the field has once again been flooded despite the work carried out by our landlords in 2025. The management of the field is totally beyond our control.
Whilst this is incredibly frustrating and disappointing for all concerned, our landlords have permitted us to postpone the tournament and move it to Sunday 13th September 2026.
As we cannot continue to have uncertainty around the tournament each year, we have formally requested of our landlords, that the tournament be moved permanently to the 2nd Sunday in September every year. Once we have a confirmation on this, we will publish it on the club‘s Facebook page and website.
All entries through Sport:80 will automatically be transferred across to the new 13th September date. For those who are unable to attend on that date, we would ask that you email the Tournament Organiser‘s email address (to@crystalpalacebowmen.org.uk) who will then issue you with a full refund including your transaction fees.
We would ask for your patience and understanding, but be rest assured that we are doing everything in our power that this shoot can reliably continue and re-build its reputation moving forward.

Our beginners' courses this year will start on Sunday 3rd May 2026 from 13:00.
Each course consists of 6 x 2.5 hour lessons with the last 2 sessions where you will shoot on a Club Day and can meet and shoot with other club members.
All courses are held at the Old Dunstonian's Sports Club, St Dunstan's Lane, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 3SS.
Our courses are run by Archery GB qualified coaches, often assisted by a number of senior club members, all of whom are Enhanced DBS checked.
Courses cost £80 per person, which includes all tuition, use of equipment, and liability insurance through our governing body, Archery GB.

Usually the club meets every Sunday (weather permitting!!), on most Tuesdays and some Friday mornings during the summer. Club members can also shoot during the week.
We welcome all styles of archer (recurve, long bow, compound etc.) and have three coaches who can work with archers to help them improve.
We are affiliated to ArcheryGB (otherwise known as GNAS the Grand National Archery Society), the Kent Archery Association, and the Southern Counties Archery Society.

We currently shoot all year round on a Sunday morning, arriving at the field at about 09:40 to set up, with an aim to start shooting at 10:00. It is possible to shoot all day, but this is dependent on a keyholder being present for the afternoon sessions.
There are normally club members shooting on a Tuesday morning. Between April to the end of September, we aim to hold sessions on a Tuesday late afternoon/evening until it gets dark, although this is subject to a keyholder being available.
For all other times, you either need a key or to liaise with a club member who is a keyholder. The club does have a WhatsApp group, which makes contacting key holders a little easier.
